Produced for Plessey by Nitsuko of Japan, this loudspeaking phone (LST11A) featured a LED display, 72 number memory, lots of feature buttons and even a calculator. But the power needed for an LED display, unlike more modern LCD displays, meant that the phone needed mains power.
