Another popular form of phone was the wall telephone Tele 121. It is similar to the bellset of the Candlestick phone (Tele 150), but with the dial, microphone and earpiece mounted on it. This example is also mounted on a backboard with writing slope. Many had black enamelled dials. Some were later rebuilt with the 200 type handset to become the Tele 221, below.

It’s possible to see where the old mouthpiece mount has been removed. The Teles 121 and 221 served the GPO’s needs for wall telephones for many years, even though their suppliers were producing new models based on the 300 type in the 1930s.
